There has always been Spiritual Healing. It has been in existence for countless thousands of years,  Spiritual Healing is a natural energy therapy. It complements conventional medicine by treating the whole person - mind, body and spirit. Spiritual Healers act as a conduit for healing energy, often described as 'love and light’ which relaxes the body, releases tensions and stimulates self-healing. The benefits of healing can be felt on many levels, not just the physical, and the effects can be profound.

When we are ill, we have lost our way, lost our balance, and we are not at ease with ourselves.  This 'dis-ease' can manifest in many ways: mental, physical and emotional. For example fear and stress will ultimately show in outward symptoms. In these cases Spiritual Healing can help one face the fear and understand it, or perhaps find a way to deal with the cause of the stress.

Where does this 'energy' come from? Healing energy is all around us. In essence it is 'universal' and is available for everyone to use for the greatest good. Healers learn to use their ability to tap into this natural energy and pass it on. In this way the healer is simply acting as a channel.  Depending upon their individual beliefs some healers and recipients see the energy as divine; others see it as pure universal energy. It is often visualised as simply 'love and light'. Spiritual Healing is non denominational and is not linked to a particular religion.

During ‘contact’ or ‘hands-on’ healing the patient may feel the energy from the healer's hands as a warm glow, as a coldness or perhaps as a slight vibration. Sometimes there may be no physical sensation at all; it is, however, usual for a healing session to be followed by a feeling of peace and general well-being.

Spiritual Healing is not an 'alternative’ therapy; it is truly complementary to more orthodox forms of treatment. Patients are not discouraged from seeing their doctor nor from following medical advice. They are advised not to vary medicine without their doctor's agreement. Healers are permitted to treat patients in hospitals where patients have requested it. There is also a growing number of medical practitioners who have recognised the value of healing, and some who have healers working with them in their surgeries.
